I am very excited to have been interviewed by ROUND 8 by RADBOD today. This interview was unique, as we discussed Aikido's history, central ideas, and battle logic in a relaxed manner.
During the interview with RadBod, I had the opportunity to share my passion for Aikido and its benefits. We discussed how Aikido is not just a martial art, but also a way of life that emphasizes harmony, respect, and self-improvement. I explained how Aikido techniques are based on redirecting an opponent's energy, rather than using brute force, making it a highly effective form of self-defence that can be practised by anyone, regardless of age or physical ability.
I also shared my experience of teaching Aikido in Hong Kong and how I have seen it positively impact the lives of my students. By promoting Aikido as a holistic approach to physical and mental wellness, I believe we can encourage more people to try it and experience its benefits.
I am grateful to RadBod for providing a platform to share my passion for Aikido and to promote its understanding in Hong Kong. I hope that the video will inspire more people to explore this beautiful martial art and embrace its principles in their daily lives.
I believe this approach will make it easier for the public to understand Aikido and help promote this sport in Hong Kong. I am looking forward to the video's release and its positive impact on the popularization of Aikido.
"Mysterious human sandbag":
The most difficult martial art to understand!
The Dojo-cho personally teaches self-defence using Aikido.
"Ai" means harmony, cooperation, and unity; "Ki" refers to spirit and behaviour. Aikido emphasizes using cooperative methods to handle problems. According to the Dojo-cho ( The Aikido Teacher), Aikido is not just a martial art, but also a philosophy of life. In this episode, Eric will visit the Aikido Honshin Dojo in Hong Kong, but unexpectedly, Aikido focuses mainly on defence, and Eric, the host, ends up becoming a human sandbag.
